Document B also discussed how this option would not require us to involve the Russians. I believe that this was a large factor in influencing the use of the atomic bomb. The U.S did not want Russian participation, as was evidenced in Document C as well. The U.S. was very concerned about the banquet of Russian influence in Europe and it was also purpose that the bomb would make Russia more manageable in Europe. I believe this greatly influenced the U.S. to use the bomb, even though they were not justified to do so.
