The 1920s was a time period after the war when most the great unwashed were ignorant, rich, and air headed. In the Great Gatsby write by F. However, Daisy is very smart and witty, although suspicious from her husbands drunkenness and affairs. She is not allowed to drill these qualities though, because she is a woman and would be silenced by gobbler her overbearing and bossy husband.
